SC400...A Rainbow Woven Birthday

I made this card for Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge...# 400!!!  Wow...how cool is that??!!!  We were allowed to pick any sketch from any  previous challenge and make a card:)...FUN!!  I chose Sketch 336...here's my card and a pic of the sketch...

I chose this sketch for it's simplicity and decided to use the Simon Says Stamp Circle Border die on the top and then on the bottom of the paper, leaving room for a sentiment...
*Simon Says Stamp CIRCLE BORDER Craft DIE S109
I had made a card a few weeks back with orange ribbon, but wondered what would happen if I used PAPER?!  I cut very thin strips of a rainbow of colors and wove them through the holes...but because of the gap in the middle and my semi fried brain this morning, there is no great pattern:(!!...oh well.  Stamped the Paper Smooches sentiment before weaving and popped up on card.  Way to go, 400...here's to 400 more:)!!!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Teacher Thank You

This card is the result of a comment I received yesterday about a die cut thank you on a post from last year...thanks Grace:)!!  In my search for the die, I found not only that die, but another die that I had forgotten about, as well. This card is without any stamping...just didn't happen, but thought it fun just the same...
I used a Striped impression plate from Papertrey Ink and a couple die cuts from Cuttlebug( With Gratitude and Apple and Books)...so funny ...had never used this thanks from this set of dies before, was never crazy about it, how funny what time can do...I really like it now:)!!...
I layered the sentiment, apple and leaves with 3 layers to pop them up a bit...super simple...gotta run...thanks again, Grace...you never know how or when you'll be inspired:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Another Banner

Couldn't resist a second card for the CAS-ual Friday's  Banners/Flags challenge...made like the first one I made for this week's challenge (the letters being made just like the hearts posted earlier today), but with a different theme...the shiny silver paper was next to impossible to photograph...but hopefully you get the idea:)...
Used Papertrey Ink die cut letters with some Michael's design paper. The silver thread is Stampin Up, the debossing is Papertrey Ink Tin Types impression plate.  Hope you will come join the fun this week...and it IS FUN!!!
And I will link this up to Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday ...this week is to make a garland on your card...thanks ladies:)!!
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS-ual Friday 67 ...Banners and Flags

This week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to make a clean and simple card that features banners or flags...
CFC67
The winner for this week will receive a fun prize!!  Hope you will join the challenge this week and share your creativity...here's what I came up with...
I opted, as I often do in my cards, for a traditional take  and made a banner of somewhat untraditional hearts.  The hearts hang over the black floss...here are a few pics to show you how I did it....just in case you're wondering...

The first pic shows a folded piece of white cardstock not quite to the top of the medium papertrey ink heart die, then die cutting the middle out.
Die cut a regular heart from pink papertrey ink graphic paper and cut the middle out.  Attach the pink to the white and hang over the black floss. I put a glue dot at the bottom tip of each heart on the inside to keep each heart together while hanging.   Threaded the floss through the buttons and added Hero Arts sentiment.  I also made one the same way but for a wedding, that I will put up later today...hope you will play with us this week...check out the CAS-ual Friday blog for inspiration from the super creative team, as well as on Facebook where you will find daily inspiration from the the super creative Facebook Girl Fridays(I'm there, too:)!!)
Hope you have a "love"ly week!!   Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Birthday Cards for a Music Group

I occasionally make cards for a music group that my mom not only belongs to but is also the secretary of and sends birthday cards to the members.  I used the same idea from a card I made over a week ago(this one I used a different sentiment from set adding the word "very"...the top stamped sentiment now looks like a better fit than my first attempt) and made 8 cards in 2 ways in a bunch of different colors..
The first four cards I made by die cutting the Happy (Sizzix Phrases, Happy) and layering it on white card stock...they were all pink.  The stamped sentiments are from a Hero Arts set(Many Birthday Messages) that I cut apart from larger sentiments in the set and put the "wishing you a very" together from 2 lines of a sentiment.  The next four cards I made with the same Papertrey Ink musical paper in different colors ...no pink... and simply die cut the sentiment from the white and layered and popped up against the musical scored paper.
                                                            BROWN
                                                           BLUE
                                                           GREEN
and    ORANGE...  Super simple  and my mom will love that they are pretty flat for mailing!!   Now my mom should be set for a few months of birthdays..yeah:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Less is More 81...Tearing

I have been MIA  from LIM...but was determined that I WOULD get a card into the challenge this week!!  The theme at Less is More this week is to make a clean and simple card  that shows tearing somewhere on your card...as much or as subtle as you want.  I had gotten this Memory Box stamp and paper pieced and tore my way to a card:)!...
My daughter didn't like the sentiment, thought it should have been "Thinking of You"...and I would have liked to but having given  away all my thank you cards, I was in desperate need of some...so please excuse the sentiment.  I used some Basic Grey paper for the paper piecing, the sentiment from Stampendous and some My Favorite Things leaf dies for the debossed background.  Tore the Early Espresso ground for the tree...yeah...fun again!!!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS-ual Friday 66...Smiling Starfish

Wow...the cards from last week's challenge were amazing!!  Way to be square, everyone!!
This week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to make a clean and simple card featuring something you might find or see at the ocean...
The sponsor this week is Stop and Scrap and the winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to do some fun shopping...
Be sure to check out the CAS-ual Fridays blog to get all the deets about this wonderful company and the special offer they are giving to all the participants of this week's challenge:):)!!  Here's my card...
Thanks to my daughter, Emma, for her creative suggestion...I had another card made, which I may put up later, but thought her idea of a shaped card made me so much happier!! I decided on a starfish...so, I googled starfish and came up with a pic that I downloaded and made a bit smaller...HERE'S the link.  I then put some doubled Daffodil Delight card stock behind the copy and cut the starfish.  I used a spotted embossing folder and brayered some tangerine tango on the inside of the folder. I placed one of the cut out starfish in the folder, and ran it through my Big Shot.  I could not fit the entire star into the folder the first time, so the bottom foot where you see the attached sentiment is where I had to run him through a second time for the fifth foot.  I attached the sentiment over the mismatched embossing.  Attached the second cut out starfish to the front one and lined with white paper(not a whole lot of space to write on this guy:)!!)...but my daughter took him to Tennessee with a friend in mind to give him to:)!!
Make sure to check out the CAS-ual Blog and CAS-ual Friday on Facebook to get some wonderful inspiration and join the fun this week!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Butterfly Branch

I made this card with a stamp from Memory Box along with the Memory Box Butterfly Delights Die and it's die cut butterflies with some Basic Gray Fall paper from last season...
Stamped the image then die cut the butterflies and adhered them with glue dots to the outlined butterflies of the image.  Added a Hero Arts sentiment stamped in Early Espresso, like the image.  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

FTL 199...Clean and Simple Sketch Challenge

I hadn't played in a Clean and Simple stamping challenge in FOREVER, so I copied off some of the more recent ones and decided I would take on one at a time until I use all the copied sketches:)!!  Clean and Simple challenge 199 looked like great fun, so here's my card and the sketch...

I used a stamp/die set from Verve for the flowers(Friends Til the End), colored with sharpie markers and dotted the centers with Glossy Accents.  Popped up and added Hero Arts sentiment.  One down a whole lot more to go....
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

The Play Date Cafe 144

I haven't played a Play Date Cafe challenge in  a while, but these colors were just TOO COOL to pass up...real quick, here's what I made and the colors...

I used the dies from the Hero Arts Sizzix set Bold Pop Design set with Bazzill swiss dotted paper, Stampin Up Circle Circus with versamark and white embossing powder on the same papers  for the centers and Hero Arts sentiment.  I used a Papertrey Ink impression plate(which was the exact same design of the centers...thought...TOO COOL:)!!)!  FUN!!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Rainbow Strips + Die Cut Sentiments

I was trying to recreate a chevron stripe card I made some time ago, where I pieced the chevrons together, but I goofed big time....so ....I used my goof to make a couple different cards...
The sentiments are Sizzix dies and used a Papertrey Ink Impression plate for the first one
The stamped sentiments are Hero Arts, cut apart from larger sentiments. The paper looked like this...bazzill swiss dotted...
but for the Hello sentiment, because I had all the background circles, I wanted the dots flattened, so I ran it through my Big shot, and the plates are a little worn, so it came our with a kind of crackled look...
Kind of liked it!!   Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS-ual Fridays 65...Square Card

The cards in the CAS-ual Fridays gallery each and every week continue to blow me away!!  The creativity of the work makes it so difficult to choose a winner...you are amazing artists!!!  Congrats to the winner and runner ups of last week's Sky challenge!!...and thank to all you who play along each week...keep it coming!!  This week the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to make a clean and simple card that is square!...
CFC65
This week the sponsor of this challenge is Stampotique Originals
Stampotique generously gave all the Girl Fridays an image and a sentiment stamp to create with this week...check out the CAS-ual Fridays blog and Facebook to see some of their wonderful stamps that were  used on the inspiration cards this week!!  The winner of this week's challenge will win a $30 shopping spree to shop Stampotique so come join the fun!!!
I absolutely fell in love with this little girl and perfect sentiment, and used paper piecing to make my card...
I used Papertrey Ink polka dotted design paper for her  top, Gina K Designs for her pants, Michael's light pink vellum for her face and hands, and cajun craze run through with PTI Linen/canvas impression plate for the flower pot.  Her hat is soft suede stamped with Hero Arts Envelope Pattern in soft suede, her shoes were stamped on white paper...thought sneakers/tennis shoes?!...  the flower are stamped with scrap paper dotted with enamel accents.  Here's a closeup...
I really love the way paper piecing can give an image something that simply coloring can't...texture and pattern...and for ME, personally...although some may not agree, it's a whole lot easier  than coloring:)!!  Hope you will join in the fun this week...it's a great week to be a square...lol!!!
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

House to Home

Yeah...I finally sat down in my craft room today and had some fun!!  We have been in the process of building a shower for our son, Noah.  We are remodeling our garage(which my craft room is presently a part of already), which we are sooooo excited about and thankful for, but it has been 2 months of chaos in our house.  The job only requires a few small things to complete the rennovation,  so over the weekend, I began the daunting task of putting all our "stuff" away...in the new laundry room, our smaller but nice attic and my newly organized shed.  Let me tell you, I WORKED!!!  Only  have a few boxes of that stuff that you don't know where to put it/not sure you want it/afraid to get rid of it for fear you'll want it later...stuff!  With only that ahead of me, I could be a bit more full of peace today:):):)!!!  I purchased some reduced stamps at Michael's some weeks back made by Doodlebug and thought they were sooooo cute.  I made this one this morning based on an incredible card by Amy Wanford which you can find HERE!  I was so taken by it, that I was determined to try it myself!
I wrote "pull up" on my card, so the one who receives it will know that they need to do something.
I stamped the house image and sentiment(Jane's Doodles) on acetate then stamped  only the image on white cardstock.  I paper pieced the colored house and added Martha Stewart punched hearts.  You place the two images together and cut to make them the same size, making sure to REALLY keep them together.  Trimmed the corners, punched a hole and attached red ribbon.
I made a frame with MFT retangle dies and adhered a separate piece of white paper behind the black frame with thin pop up dots.  I then added another layer of thin dots behind the white and slid the acetate house in front of the white and the paper pieced house behind the white.
And as you pull up, the colored house "magically" appears:)!!  thanks, Amy, for your amazing creativity...WHAT FUN!!
I have a few more cards made with the Doodlebug stamp sets I will share in the coming days:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS-ual Fridays 64...The Sky

This week the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to make a clean and simple card featuring things you'd see in the sky...
cfc64
This week's sponsor is Simon Says Stamp!...
and the winner of this week's challenge will not only be a guest designer with CAS-ual Fridays next month, but will win a $25 gift certificate for a shopping spree at Simon Says Stamp!!  So let's see what creative masterpieces you come up with this week:)!!  Here's what I made...
I was  inspired by a  Baby shower card I saw by Papyrus...and made all my elements on my baby card things you would see in the sky!  I used a cloud template that I found on the internet and used some little dies from a My Favorite Things die set(Notched Tag)...except the moon , which I punched a circle and punched a section off to make a crescent moon.  I layered each a couple times and then adhered underneath the cloud and drew dotted lines to connect to cloud.  I hand drew the stitched lines on the cloud and  used a Hero Arts sentiment.
Don't forget to check out the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see what the design team has come up with but don't forget  CAS-ual Fridays on Facebook...you will find yours truly there every Monday and another Girl Friday there every day of the challenge for added inspiration!! The sky's the limit...hope you have a cloudless, sunny week:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

HI

I am adrift in a sea of chaos of late...seriously!!  But, in order to keep my sanitly, I am putting up a card I made weeks ago and meant to put up 3 days ago, but didn't.  I have not made a card in a while and am not sure when I WILL get into my room with any mind to create, so will have to rely on stored cards in my computer for now!...
This was one of my first attempts for CAS-ual Fridays 63...but just wasn't sure of it as my card for the challenge, so I made another...THEN my stars one that I used for the challenge(so I STILL have yet another to show you on another day:)!!).  Used the three colors and stamped the Hero Arts background stamp Envelope Pattern on each color in versamark and then cut into strips. I used a square and covered the square then die cut the HI from it.  I used a little over a square card(think it's 4 1/4" x 4 1/2"..the card was sent to my daughter's friend, so I'm not exactly sure) and layered the strips on the card.  Adhered the striped square and added Papertrey Ink ribbon.  Hoping your life is calm and peaceful!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
