CAS(E) this Sketch #12

I just got a new stamp set from Stampin Up....the cutest whale EVER!!  I used CAS(E) this Sketch #12 to make my first(of many!!)with this cute little guy!!  Here's the sketch and my card below it...
I made my card using Oh, Whale stamp set and the coordinating die Happy Whale...
*click on pic for a closer look*
I also embossed the vertical black strip and stamped the water with the sentiment and some wavy line stamp from Heidi Grace: Borders on dark gray paper. I first stamped the sentiment with versamark and white embossed...then stamped the wavy lines with versamark and CLEAR embossed.  Then cut it out.   I then took my black soot distress ink and swiped the gray paper to make it black  and just have the gray wavy lines and sentiment show from the black.  The red hearts are from Simon Says Stamp dies (Falling Hearts and Holiday Shapes Hearts/Stars die) adhering them over the stamped hearts and dotting them with...yes...glossy accents:)!!  Put a black stick on dot on the dark gray whale's eye.   Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Guess what??  Whaley was a favorite for the CAS(E) this Sketch....SWEET!!!  Thanks so much, ladies...I am so honored!!

YOU

Having fun with the sentiments/quotes from Verve's stamp set Stronger Love...
Used the sentiment on the top of a white panel, a red ribbon in the middle and a piece of Stampin Up design paper on the bottom.  Colored the heart in the sentiment red and dotted with...you know...glossy accents.  Used 3 puffy white stick on hearts... Popped up on white card and then drew 3 black dots to lead to the inside...
Colored the heart red and ....well...you know...dotted with glossy accents.  Thought it looked a bit more like a "guy" card than most, although my sister said could as easily be given to a girl...you decide:):)
It snowed in Virginia yesterday!  My sister had been visiting for 5 days, and the drive home from the airport, which would normally take me 15 minutes, took me 2 HOURS!!  Here's a pic out my front door(having been born and raised in Buffalo, NY, this makes me chuckle, but a dusting is DANGEROUS in Virginia!)
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Some CAS-ual Friday Cards

I have a couple cards that I am honored to have featured today on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog today, using the newest releases from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps...hope you will check it out!!  Here are the cards...
I made the first card with the Casual Elegance Set.  I stamped the leaves and cut out.  Colored with gray markers and attached to card with sentiment with pop up dots.  Added a daisy flower made with a My Favorite Things die and some Tim Holtz Distress paper.  I finished by added one yellow rhinestone on the "i" in the sentiment.
The second one I used the Loving Thoughts set.  I stamped the paper with versamarked stamp and white embossed the flowers.  I cut each out and layered with pop up dots and sticky dots.  Added to kraft cut out panel on white card.  I cut the panel with a spellbinder circle die and added the sentiment by stamping with versamark and white embossing.  I dotted 3 spots of the flourish type sentiment with red liquid pearls.  Having so much fun with these new stamps!!  Hope you have a great weekend!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Ok...here's my card, using some Memento markers and some CAS-ual Fridays stamps...
I used the Countdown set from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps for the border and the Rad set from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps for the sentiment.  I stamped the border once, then stamped the sentiment, clear embossing each.  Then I masked the sentiment and stamped the border over the mask.  I clear embossed the border and  then colored the ovals and tiny circles with Memento markers.  I dotted them with Glossy Accents and added a few pink and greeen rhinestones.

Simon Says Stamp Valentine’s Day Blog Hop and Giveaway

Love is in the air and Simon Says Stamp has made it even more fun to create projects to show someone that you love them with their 2013 Valentine’s Day Release.  I am so honored and excited that I was asked to create a project using something from this release to share in today’s Valentine’s Day Blog Hop!
When my children were little...nothing was sweeter or more precious than getting a handmade Valentine's Day card from them...treasures!!  Things have changed a bit... NOW, with them grown,  I  am the one giving  THEM the handmade cards...but telling my family and friends I love them...it something that brings such joy to my heart:)!   Creating for this Hop brought joy to my heart and was soooo much fun,  I have three cards to share with you...
***Just wanted to let you know that all the  stamps and dies I used for my cards were                 Simon Says Stamp and the pics and links to all of them are listed below:)!!
I made this card with Talk Bubbles 2 (the 9 rectangles), the sentiment is from  Just a Love Note.  I stamped the framed rectangles with versamark and white embossed.  I cut out the frames and used the 2 smallest heart dies from  Large Heart dies to make the cut out and the heart for the framed rectangles,  and popped up the hearts in the popped up frames(the frames have the same colored paper behind each frame).  Used Stampin up papers  for the 3 browns and pinks.  Here's a close up of the frames hearts...
The first card though easy and fun,  was a bit more involved than my typical cards ...my second and third cards much simpler in their style...
For this card I used the  Curly Heart die and a sentiment from  Just a Love Note.  I used some  red metallic paper and die cut the heart 3 times.  I adhered the hearts together and adhered them to white panel with sentiment and framed in black.  I then cut off the side of the heart that went beyond the framed panel.  Added a red rhinestone to the sentiment and layered on metallic red paneled white card.  Here's a close up...
For the last one, I used the  Lots of Hearts stamp set and the coordinating dies, Large Heart Craft dies, with a sentiment from Just a Love Note.   I die cut the hearts and stamped them with versamark and white embossed.

Here's how I made the hearts...
I used 2 of the dies and two heart stamps...then I popped up the smaller one over the larger, framed heart. I used my Martha Stewart Scoring Board and scored lines on the   white card.   Here's a close up of the hearts and scoring...
And now to the giveaway part!   Leave a comment on this blog post and one lucky winner will receive a Simon Goodie Bag (if you know Heidi, it will be a good one!).  We will draw the winner on Thursday morning 1/31/13 at 9:00 AM EST. so be sure to leave your comment by then.

Thanks for visiting! The next stop in the Simon Says Stamp Valentine’s Day Blog Hop is the amazing Shari Carroll!!   If while hopping, you encounter a broken link, you can go back to the beginning   for links to everyone who is participating in the hop.

More Quilled Elegance

I love to cut paper!!  Look at my last number of posts(I must be on a paper cutting roll:)!!)...I just think cutting out images makes images really "stand" out and gives added interest...and I just LOVE to do it(I find it very relaxing!!)!!  Well...I was going to do a simply stamped card with the Papertrey Ink's Quilled Elegance, but the scissors were calling:):)!!...
I decided to color with Memento markers... light and dark pink and gray...with black...a sweet combo of colors!!  Cut out and popped up all the various pieces of the stamped image(all one stamp) and stamped the sentiment.  Used Papertrey ink Tin Type impression plate and popped up on Papertrey Ink white card(all the paper is papertrey ink white:)!)...Hope you're having a great weekend!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Quilled Elegance Butterflies

I loved the look of the Papertrey Ink set Quilled Elegance  and purchased it at Christmas, but am just getting to play with it:)!  I saw the butterfly in the set and had to try my hand at coloring a few!!  Used some Memento markers and experimented with combos until I found 3 I loved.  Used my VERY  favorite layout for three images and a sentiment...
FUN FUN FUN!!!  I am loving bright, bold, happy colors, don't get much brighter or bolder than these guys:):)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
Edited to answer Zyra's question in her comment:)!  I'm so sorry that I don't often include the "type" of paper that I use...because paper IS important to achieving a certain "look" sometimes....especially with clean and simple cards.  The paper on this card is ALL Papertrey Ink white paper.  It is a VERY thick, heavyweight paper and is VERY white....it's just "simply" wonderful!  It's ESPECIALLY sweet on cards like this with lots of open space...a nice white paper is just nice:)!!  I used a thin paint brush to ever so slightly curl the wings of the butterflies before popping up on panel(put my thumb on the brush, my 1st finger behind the butterfly and swept it across the wings)...and then popping the panel on the card.  Hope that helps answer your question..welcome to the wonderful world of card making, Zyra...thanks for asking...love questions!!!

CAS-ual Fridays 86...It's a Long One

It's Friday and time for another challenge at CAS-ual Fridays!!  The challenge this week at CAS-ual Fridays is to make a clean and simple card with one long side and one short side(3 x 6, 4 x 8 for example)...

The sponsor for this week is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!!
The winner of this week's challenge will win a $20 gift certificate to purchase some sweet stamps!!  The January stamps were just released today...so you'll  have 3 new sets  to choose from in addition to the previously released stamps should you win this week!!  So let's get creating...here's what I made...
I used one of the new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps sets, Loving Thoughts...I LOVE the flowers and beautiful sentiments!!  I stamped the large flower twice and the smaller one once with versamark and white embossed. I cut the the large and medium flowers from the large flowers and cut the smallest flower on my card with the smaller flower.  I used three different shades of red(kind of maroon and dark pink)...with scraps so not certain of exact colors.  Used Stampin up curmb cake paper and design paper.  Cut hole in panel with Spellbinders circle die and stamped sentiment with versamark and white embossed. Added a threaded maroon heart in the center of the flower...
Hope you will join the fun this week...it's fun to change up the size of cards....come share your creativity with all of us!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
