Christmas Pointsettia

Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without a poinsettia....a super simple card for today...
I used some textured bazzill paper to make my poinsettia and used pop up dots underneath the petals to ensure that they would not get pressed down...just liked the look of it better:)!  Used 3 enamel dots in the center of the flower.  The brown paper is from  AC Moore's...comes textured:0  Here's a close up
Had this piece of burlap sitting on my desk...just thought the flower looked cool on the burlap:)  Hope your weekend is wonderful:)!!   Hugs!! Lisa

Less is More 147...Christmas with a Bird

The challenge this week at Less is More is to make a clean and simple Christmas card...but it has to have a bird on it as an extra challenge:)!!  I have made so many cards with branches of late, a Christmas card with a bird (in this case two) for this challenge...well...more branches seemed in order :):)!!...
The sentiment is from a wonderful set of Christmas sentiments from Simon Says Stamp...I think I have used almost every one of them...LOVE THEM!!  The birds and their houses are from W Plus 9 Designs and the branch from Memory Box!  Hope your Friday is Fantastic!!!   Hugs!! Lisa

Wooden Thanks

For everyone in the United States, today, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!  I'm busy roasting my Turkey and fixins' (as they say here in the South) and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade...oh how I love traditions!!  I am so thankful for so many things, and it IS wonderful to have a day to reflect on all those many things!!  I am so thankful for all of you who are a part of my blog, those who visit, follow, comment, and share my work!!  My blog brings me great happiness, and you all are a part of that happiness for me, thank you so very much!!  In keeping with Thanks, I made a wintery thank you card....made with only wood veneer and a couple dies...kind of fitting for my idea of Thanksgiving..."woodsy":)...
I used some wood veneer paper, die cut the sweet little snowflakes from the Elegant Holiday Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp and punched little circles for their centers with a basic hole punch.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches...I am loving this "thanks"...it's font is so sweet...perfect heft and curves for the snowflakes!  Cut two strips of wood for borders.  Give thanks today, no matter where you are...hope your day is fantastic:)!!   Hugs!! Ornament Branch

I decided to use a tiny ornament stamp from the Paper Smooches Warm Hearts set with versamark and gold embossing powder, and a branch die from Memory Box to make a Christmas card...
The branch die I used from Memory Box has a more intricate design...notice the points and detail on the branch...
I decided to chop a lot of the detail off the branch and round it, to give the branch a "simpler" look that went with simpler designed ornaments and sentiment.  I also layered the branch, too. The ornaments are popped up with a 3D dot.  I used a gold pen and T- ruler to draw straight lines from the branch to the ornaments and dotted the ornaments with glossy accents to give the hearts in the centers of the ornaments a "jeweled" look:)!!..
Thanksgiving is tomorrow, my daughter and son-in-law will be flying in tonight, and my craft room/my daughter's old bedroom, will be "occupado" until Monday.  I have planned ahead, though, and have cards to share with you EVERY DAY until then, so...until tomorrow...hope your Wednesday is Wonderful:)!! Hugs!! CAS•ology Week 72...Cue Card: SHOP

I was thrilled and am so honored to have been asked to be the guest designer for this week's challenge at CAS•ology!!
I love the Cue Card challenges, isn't it amazing what things we think of from a simple word?  And taking a word and making a card from it...makes for some amazing fun and fun challenges each week!!
The Cue Card for this week...the word SHOP!
Given the time of year...the only "shop" I kept thinking of was...
Being that Thanksgiving is only celebrated in the United States, you might not know what Black Friday is.  Black Friday is the Friday following Thanksgiving that marks the start of the Christmas shopping season.  It is said to be the day when most stores are finally "in the black" financially for the year.  It's a day when many stores have huge "deals" and open their doors earlier every year (this year a number of stores are open ON THANKSGIVING...now I think that's AWFUL!!) to garner the shopping dollars of more customers.  It can be fun...you start out really early in the morning to get all the great sales and shop til you drop.  I did it one year......CRAZY...that was enough for me!  This card is for my daughter who will shop on that day!  I used an alphabet die set from Papertrey Ink and sponged red ink on a new stencil from Simon Says Stamp...thought it gave the "Black Friday" more of a Christmas feel:).  I have put a couple gift cards for food(Chipolte) and drink(Starbucks) to keep my daughter going:):)!!  I made the envelopes with vellum and a giftcard die from Simon Says Stamp...
Thank you, Melissa and ladies, for having me on your team this week....so much fun, as usual...love CAS•ology!!  Hope your day is wonderful!! Hugs!! Lisa

Holiday Border Card

I used yet another border stamp from the new Simon Says Stamp set, Holiday Borders to make another simple, one layer card.  LOVE the sweater look of this stamp:)!!...
I stamped with versamark and white embossed.  Added black Enamel Accents dots and die cut the Paper Smooches sentiment and coated it with Glossy Accents.  Super simple, but  SUPER FUN!!  So happy you stopped by!!  Hugs!! Lisa

Simple Sparkly Snowflakes

I couldn't resist purchasing the Elegant Holiday Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp!  The kit came with wonderful stamps and pretty papers, among other things, but the stamps are what really sold me on the purchase!  Here are two very simple cards using one of the borders from the Holiday Borders set along with the Holiday Hellos set...
Used versamark and white embossing powder, embellishing with red and green rhinestones and rounding the corners of the card.

The second one, on a white card stamped with Stampin up Marina Mist and clear rhinestones in the snowflake centers.  Hope you have a great weekend...thanks for stopping by:)!!  Lisa
