Happy Flowers, Happy Birthday!

I made some flowers using the leaf stamp from the Simon Says Stamp set, Favorite Flowers that came with the Simon June Card Kit...
I stamped the leaf 6 times in each of the colors, cut out, and adhered each of the 6 petals to a glue dot, forming the flowers (I know you might think me a little crazy to stamp and cut 30 petals, but it was super easy, and cutting the petals out did not take long...actually about 10-15  minutes and was SUPER fun:)!!).  I then added a piece of paper behind the glue dot, so that the backs of the flowers weren't sticky, while I discovered how I wanted the flowers to be placed.  I used an enamel dot in the center of each flower (from Michael's...the yellow one is basicgrey).  The sentiment is from Winnie and Walter:)!  I LOVED the look of these flowers:)!!  I put a black piece of paper behind the white card and hand cut the curved lines on both pieces of paper at the same time, so the black paper would line up perfectly with the white card, then adhered the two pieces together.  The card measures 7 3/4" x 4".   Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

  1. This card is just gorgeous! I love the colours you used and the flowers are so sweet. I also really appreciate you going thru how you created the card and was surprised you had done so much cutting by hand. I don't have many die cuts and see lots of different cards with ideas I'd like to try but don't have the dies. This gives me so much hope and I know that if I think outside the square, I can get around the lack of tools. Thank you so much for the inspiration!!!!!

  4. Your hand cut flowers are so colorful and pretty. But let me tell you, several years ago, after I fussy cut 30 flowers with arthritis and carpal tunnel in my hands and wrists, I knew I needed a die cut machine - LOL!! Hats off to you for being able to cut so many flowers. The black and white background really makes the flowers grab your attention. I love your card :)
